Shaheen, the wife of Toseef Sheikh, who lives in Vatwa area, got pregnant in 2013 and was being treated by Dr. Hardik Mehta of Anand Hospital at Shah Alam. Had taken regular medicine for nine months and Shaheen’s health was also good. On the ninth month, Shaheen went to the hospital again for a routine check-up. The doctor said it was a stomach infection and performed a caesarean section, after which he was discharged. Meanwhile, Shaheen’s health deteriorated, so Dr. Hardik again showed him that he had kidney and bowel problems, after which V.S. While admitting the doctors asked for Hardik’s file, but Hardik refused to give the file, after which Shaheen was taken to a private hospital, kept on ventilator and due to lack of money was again taken to VS Hospital where she died. On behalf of the complainant, Advocate Imtiyaz Khan Pathan filed a complaint in the Metropolitan Court, presented the evidence and submitted the judgements. The court issued a summons to the doctor.
